Vacuum on My Steam Risers
Steam_Trap
Member Posts: 7
Just put a vacuum system back in service. Working great. Except...... The riser pipes with no radiators like in the bathroom, only get hot at the top floor. If I open the trap on the top floor I have vacuum on both sides?!?! Any ideas why and how to solve

Are there only risers with no rads in the bathrooms. is the return also in that space as well. I would think the supply would have more vacuum than the return If all the traps are working.
steam is lighter than air, but should be able to push the riser air out into the return, if the boiler runs long enough. double check all the radiator and crossover traps to make sure that steam isn't getting into the returns and closing the other traps prematurely.--NBC0
