Burnham Independance series feet rotting

Anyone else experience the steel brackets surrounding the nylon feet rotting away? These things are sloughing off a good amount. No water was ever standing down in the 4 inch pit the boiler sits in. The pit is a few inches thick of poured concrete. My guess is moisture is attacking it overtime. During the summer it does get moist down in my basement.
