How do you fill an inverted bucket trap

It'll self prime on the first cold startup no? If it doesn't and steam gets past it, just shut down the boiler for a few minutes after running and there should be enough steam behind the trap that'll condense to prime it.0

Remove the plug on the top of the cover, fill it up. Replace plug, turn on steam.
Sometimes they will self prime with the slug of water in the pipes but it's simple to make sure it's done right.Peter Owens
