Help baseboard loop on steam boiler

I need some help I put in a new steam boiler which had an existing loop of baseboard off the bottom. the feed and return for the loop come directly off the bottom of boiler on both side. It never had a bypass so I left it the way it was customer said it work for 10 years. I burned out two pumps after 4 days of operation fine seems like it's breaking vacuum. I have an aqua stat on the feed side of loop so the steam doesn't come on when steam zone is not calling. but I have the pump running continuously above 180 if the steam side is calling. I wonder if that is what my problem is should the pump be shutting off at 200 degrees but I was scared I wasn't going to have enough heat for that loop. Thanks Help

The bypass is needed to help mix the water so it doesn't exceed 180 degrees. What kinda pump are you using? Pump needs to be a bronze or stainless steel 3 piece oil lubricated like the B&G 100.
