I'm getting plenty of hot water but the unit is clicking on for about 3 seconds then off for 4 or 5 then it keep repeating the cycle. I don't recall this happening before. Any thoughts on this?

Sounds like the Smart control beginning to fail. It will be followed (at some point) by a steady buzz and stop working if so.
