3 way circulator

in THE MAIN WALL
Has anyone heard of a 3 way circulator on a hot water heating system? I saw a blurry photo of what appeared to be a circulator near a boiler with 3 connections.

    What type of boiler was it on?
    I know the Lochinvar Solution had /has a bypass built in to the circ that is on board.

    It's a Taco 005 on a Weil Mclain boiler.
