It is a 4 section V7. It was our first time there far an annual tuneup. Took me 15 mins to un-wire everything to get the side panel off. The customer came down and said "The other guys never needed to do that".
I then went and got my soot saw and another vac bag. 3 hours later I was finished. The coil gasket is shot and he already has an IDWH.
The bright side is I measured the house for a heat loss while I was there and emailed him a quote for a Biasi B10-3. He green lighted it for spring.0 -
I have a feeling many others thought the same thing I did, that there was no smoke pipe.RJMCTAFO said:It is a 4 section V7. It was our first time there far an annual tuneup. The Burnham V8 I ripped out of my house had the burner hard wired so you couldn't unplug it to open the door. Not as bad as what you found, but still very confusing. They designed the boiler to be fairly easy to service and yet the person that installed it couldn't follow basic instructions.Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

About 10 years ago went to replace a maybe 30 year old LP furnace. I had been there maybe 2 years before for a T-couple or such. This time however I noticed the bottom of the brick chimney was half chopped away at the floor level. The owner said that the blower motor had failed and he called someone else to replace. That was the original motor and never removed. The furnace was too close to the chimney to pull the blower assembly, so this guy removed the bricks with a sledge hammer.....It was a good weekend for me to be out of town.
There had been an oil burner connected before the LP so the previous 50 years of soot had settled into the bottom.0 -
