I found someone on craigs list that has a house a mile from where I live, he is converting the house to HVAC and is looking to sell all the radiators in the house. Problem, they are steam radiators.
Is it true, that some steam radiators can be converted into hot water?
My thoughts, on each side of my living room with the 2 trapped in radiators under all the plants. There are 2 walls about 30" on each side of the bay. The thought before was to purchase new radiators for those areas, if I can make these work for water, I could put 2 small radiators on each side.
Also, please correct me if I am wrong. With the boiler system I have, would it be beneficial to have a higher delta t number? right now i am between 2 - 4 for a delta t, but it has been a very mild winter so far. Should i consider putting in another radiator in the basement, like someone suggested, I think Kurt, and have it in series with the return line. Would this raise my delta T number?
Before anything, I need to know if steam radiators can be converted to be used on a hot water system.
Thanks

I only had 2 e-mail conversations with the guy. I don't have any pictures. I imagine, if the side opposite the valve has a big plug, I can convert it? Is this correct? And where the steam vent might be, I van put in a key type bleeder? Am I thinking right?0
