Main air vents spits water like sprinkler and water hammering

Please help me solve this problem, I have a radiator closest to boiler making banging noise when the radiator sit for few hours. It didn't make any banging after I drain all the water and then restart firing up the boiler. Another problem were the main hoffman air vents spit water near the end of each heating cycle.

    Take some pics of the boiler and the piping around the boiler, also pics of the piping around the main vents.. Check the slope on the steam mains with a level to make sure the slope is right, the water has to have a way to get back to the boiler.

    Is this a one pipe system? If so,Check and make sure the radiator is pitched slightly back towards the supply pipe. If it is a two pipe system, pitch it towards the outlet pipe. Check the pipe run-out from the main in the basement and make sure that pipe is pitched back towards the main and make sure the Main, itself is pitched towards the dry return and isn't sagging somewhere in the middle.
    Finally, make sure your pressuretrol is set for a Cut-in of .5 PSI and a Differential of "1" (If you have an all gray Pressuretrol with one scale on the front, the Differential will be a white wheel inside that box). Make sure the Pigail (looped pipe the Pressuretrol is mounted on) is clean. Take the Pressuretrol off and wash the pigtail out. They get clogged with gunk and can let the pressure rise well above the Pressuretrol settings. One or more of these items should fix you issue.
