I thought I would share this with you guys. After a year of running my system I drained down the fernox magnetic filter just to check To see how much junk it collected. Water came out nice and clean with some black debris, but nothing crazy.

There is no reason to do the bypass. Sometimes i wander if I even should of done it. Just a wast of copper and fittings.

Yes the supply from the house aka return? can enter the top. That's how mine is set up.

I thought about doing that as well. My brother In law swears installing a ups is better then a surge protector.

It really depends on what problem(s) you want to address. Is it better to use a drill or a saw?

Make sure that model is an online unit, the standby units will not do you any good. Also make sure it's rated to handle the load of the boiler and any internal circulator.

Remember to change the batteries in that unit every 2 to 3 years.

@jonny88 Thank you. Yes I'm using room air for the time being. It's on my to do list to fix. Along with a bunch of other odds and ends. Like add my other two zones in and add my buffer tank. Just haven't had the time.
Both prvs are there just not piped to the ground in this picture. They are now.
