At this point I'm afraid to touch this for fear of breaking.
Can I buy the whole assembly somewhere?

    You can get them from most distributors or here -

    That is all brass so it should come apart but you better have a new glass, gauge glass washers and the brass washers on hand before you touch anything.

    Make sure there is a stocking distributor close by when you do this in case you need a part - best not to do it on a Sunday afternoon when they are closed.

    The two things I bought the week after having my Smith G8 boiler installed 3 years ago were a replacement gauge glass and a CO / Gas alarm. I've since picked up an igniter for the Carlin gas gun and a couple of spare radiator vents.
