single hole TRV conversion valve for cast radiators

For that large L shaped radiator I brought home.

The valve is a Euro version, straight hemp thread. So the FIP hole in the bushing needs to be enlarged a bit.

Loctite is the best way to seal straight threads like this.

I snaked a piece of pex to the opposite end with a pex ell flowing up into the end section, It slips over the 12mm tube on the 455 conversion valve.

It seems to warm nice and evenly, just under 1.25 gpm. In a few weeks I will have an IR camera to take a look.

Very cool...didn't Hydronic Alternatives offer at least a valve only version?

Maybe, I think Oventrop does, or did also. not sure if theirs are US thread.

The connector nuts on the Caleffi were 12mm, so I belt sanded down a piece of 1/2 od copper until it slipped into the compression ferrules.

Very cool. I have never used those valves before but have done the pex trick where I could only have access to the one side of the radiator.
