Corrosion on heat lines at boiler

Four years ago we installed/modified piping at a boiler to add radiant zones. I got a call from the owner that they were seeing some corrosion on some of the piping. We used black steel pipe and added some brass ball valves. The corrosion is only happening on the boiler side of the valves. Any idea why this is happening. See pictures attached.

I agree with Bob, it looks like a thread leak. If the bottom of the valve was done like the top it looks like not enough thread sealant was used.0
