Riello air gate hydralic jack leak

I was told Riello seals on this piston, due to something called olefins in the oil (something like that). Anyway, the repair techs do now, is to remove the jack altogether, and plug the oil line feeding it. I got the fix kit which consisted of a set screw, a flat washer and a short machine bolt. It had no instructions on the repair. Has anyone done one of these repairs. I understand the air gate is permanently pinned open, ...

I removed jack and air shutter after the jack started to leak. As a result the turbulator no longer cokes up and is easy to clean.

    How old is the burner?
Put a new jack on there.
Or take the gate off, remove the jack, the small oil line, and attach the plug with washer (no pipe dope/tape) into the hole in the fuel pump.
I like the air gate as it provides some clues to troubleshooting. Also helps stop off cycle losses up the flue.

The 'aromatic fuel causing seal leakage' excuse is a myth perpetrated by Riello because they sourced and used a cheaper rubber in their gaskets for a brief time.
    And sometimes they just leak.

There was an error rendering this rich post.
