Boiler Guy Looking for a Boiler for my home - ATTN MANUFACTURERS

Hi guys,

As the titles states, a boiler guy looking for a boiler in my own home. Being a tinkerer and a perfectionist specializing in combustion and hydronics im up in a bind.
Cast iron atmospheric or high tech mod con. Budget is a key topic here since the home is going through a retrofit to make it livable.
The heat loss shows 44.5mbh heat loss for the structure.
Subtract the crawl space and cellar (15mbh) and im sitting right around 30mbh for the heated area, perfect size for the slantfin sentry s34 84% efficient boiler.
If I recall that boiler comes with the Hydrolevel odr control, a real win.

25mbh baseboard sized at 160f design temp. 5k radiant bathroom/kitchen.
50gal Bradford white indirect.

The home is old and leaky with single pane windows. 1200sq ft heated area (25btu /sq ft). Design temp is 9*f.

The baseboards are going to be high capacity single pass design.

What it comes down to, is there a boiler out there that I missed that would be budget friendly initially? I think I hit the nail on the head by finding this small boiler matched to the heat loss with odr and boiler protection built right into the boiler.

If theres a boiler manufacturer out there that wants to test equipment contact me. Im well known (through my real world alias) with viessmann, nti, TT, and lochinvar. You wont catch a pos combi from a subpar manufacturer in my basement.

The main source of heat here is NG however im not opposed to a pellet fueled boiler or even a wood outdoor boiler if the price is right.

Too many trees for solar thermal in this neck of the woods.

Thoughts and comments welcome.

How about a Biomass System with thermal storage and an Econoburn gasifier. You can still marry in a Modcon backup if you wish.

Not related to your question, but please consider storms, either interior or exterior for your windows. The Rvalues are the same, it's less money, a MUCH better aesthetic look AND it helps save our resources.

@vaporvac I would consider new windows but once you start, it turns into siding, flashing, capping, interior trim work...

Given how finicky some mod-cons can be, I'd stick with cast-iron for my own house. Look at the Burnham 303 or ES-23, one of those two should handle your load easily.

@Steamhead yes they are finicky on occasion (occasion when installed correctly, very often when installed incorrectly).

As of now im going cast iron. If theres a company out there looking to do datalogging or testing in real world conditions, they can contact me.
I have backups for backups and theres a scorched air central AC going in too. If the local stove shop has a nice wood stove I may go for one of those too.

HTP UFT 80 is now available to the market NYPlumber . Low end 8K , price should be manageable . This one can do whatever you want if it's not too late .

Rich, thanks. HTP isnt common in this neck of the woods. Besides, im not a fan of 10:1 turn downs. It may not short cycle but it wont condense either. I went with a high efficiency emitter system and a standard cast iron boiler rated at 84%.

Curious as to why you would say it won't condense ?
