Jumping Y1 To Y2 in a two stage Compressor

I just replaced an old single stage R22 air conditioner. Unknown to me, the new unit has a two stage compressor, but I have no wires from the thermostat to connect to Y2. I can get a new thermostat, but pulling a new wire is not desirable. If I want to forfeit the benefits of a two stage compressor, can I jump the Y1 & Y2 wires at the condenser board? Or do I just wire Y2? This is a seldom used property, and I do not want to spend any additional money. Please advise.

Yes. You can install a jumper from Y1 to Y2.0

Not a VS furnace? Jump outside. VS furnace, jump inside for full blower. If VS, why not get a wireless stat or Vision Pro with EIM and enjoy the comfort paid for even if the joint isn't used that much.0

Im late to this party but if you want to get fancy you could get a pressure control that closes at 145 psig and opens around 110 psig and wire "R" to one side and "Y2" to the other and let in load and unload that way.0
