Oil Shelf life

I have a customer who is getting a new oil boiler. They have burned pellets the last 2 years and used a electric hot water heater. They had 3/4 of a tank of oil that has sat 2 years my question is. Is it still good to burn?

The only "concern" I would have is if oil eating bacteria got into it. I would certainly add a couple bottles of fuel rite to the tank.

I'd start by probing with some water-finding paste. Once that proves OK, then try a fuel conditioner. Next step is to pump through a full flow particulate filter and water separator.
