This is a splendid place and well worth a detour to visit.
Drove by the grave of Mr Mouat, and went to the Garfield memorial in the grounds.
I noticed their vapor system rads all had air vents on them, as well as traps!
It didn't look right, and so I advised them to come here.--NBC

Tom Mouat would roll over in his grave looking at that radiator with both an air vent and a trap.

    NBC,

Did they let you in the "ballroom" in the dome at the very top? The whole area under that dome is one room. A truly amazing structure - a massive pile of cut stone. I do hope you had enough time there to see John Rockefeller's gravesite and the Wade Memorial Chapel with the Tiffany stained glass window. A very surprising number of some of the country's best known industrialists are buried at Lakeview - from back in the days when they say Cleveland actually had more millionaires than NYC.

The "Little Italy" right below towards the city came about with all the Italian stone cutters that came there to cut all the stone in the place.

The place is one of Cleveland's treasures that a shocking percentage of Clevelanders don't even know about.

Yes I saw the Wade Chapel which was my primary reason for stopping there.
As a Trustee, I am responsible for the renovation of our Cemetery Chapel at Forest Lawn cemetery in Omaha, which has a similar amount of mosaic work to the Wade Chapel.
On our way back from Cleveland, we took a long detour to Minneapolis, where the Lakewod Cemetery has the most ornate chapel, whose mosaics were done by Charles Lamb of New York, as were ours in Omaha. The amount of ornament in these chapels could easily been over the top, and in bad taste, but were not due to the skill of the designers.

The Forestlawn link wouldn't work for me. The Lakewood Cemetary Chapel very cool - thanks!
