I have installed and worked on a bunch of these.
    They are ok.
I do not like the concentric vent.
Hot water output is good for a combi as the boiler 160k input.
    It is compact.
I actually just replaced a fan on one today.
took 4 days to arrive as my supplier no longer stocks parts.
    As w/ all modcons....water quality/treatment is important.
A damp basement is not a good environment.
If you do an install to the quality you do things at I am sure it will be fine.

Thanks Kevin...off hand, how much cheaper (percentage-wise) are they than other better known brands that would justify using one? M.D.

Funny. From the supply house that was carrying the Onex combi there was no huge price break......
    Less than a TT excellence
    More than a Navien.
    More than a TT challenger.

A number of other boiler companies have rebadged it....It is a Cosmogas unit.
Embassy, Slant/fin, Peerless, Smith Boiler all have put their moniker on the same unit.
When I first started installing them they claimed 93-4% afue.... now they are down to 91%

I mean these are not terrible boilers by any stretch.
For a combi unit they do put out a very good hot water supply.
The BIG thing I do fault them w/ is the venting.
The concentric vent I do not like. The inside is 2" poly pro (nice) outside sheet metal (not so much).
They do have a propensity to cross contaminate and the vent seals leak dripping down on the inside of the unit causing all kinds of issues. After a few years the outside intake vent needs replacing. Furthermore the termination does not hold up well to UV exposure.
    Split the venting...problem solved.
I have had great luck w/ some of the units...others not so much.
The other thing is that getting the combustion set right can be a bit finicky.

Try a Baxi Combi unit. I've had great success selling these units. Few issues and parts are readily at hand from the rep. They also give training classes.
