I have had a couple of these staple guns. After a year or so they stop working...not necessarily jammed (no staples caught) just will not staple T-stat wire any more. Any hints to resurrect this?

These things have very sensitive noses. Slam them into the end of a toolbox or let them land on their noses from less than a foot and the business end gets out of whack.

good point. I have been pretty careful.... What do others use to secure t-stat wire to studs and the like?

I've been using these for the past 20 years or so. Slower (you have to squeeze twice) but they hold quite solidly while nearly eliminating wire breaks & pinches. Telecrafter also repairs and rebuilds the clip guns.
