Looking For A More Efficient Strainer

We have a job with a steam boiler that also serves a hot-water loop for an indirect tank. The system has some deterioration out in the piping and the current brass y-strainer clogs up on a very regular basis. Is there a better strainer out there? Am I better off putting two strainers in parallell? Using a strainer that's a few sizes bigger than what's there now? And other ideas?

I was looking at Caleffi's DirtMag but it might be too tall. I have limited height. Although, for the right product, I would alter the piping.0

Sounds like you might be best served with a separator. They catch the particles and allow them to fall to the space at the bottom. The flow and pressure drop doesn't change as they do their job.
There are some vertical versions if that would help.Bob "hot rod" Rohr
