Oil to Gas Conversion?

    Actually,
My heating bill with gas is often a 1/3 what my neighbor pays in oil. Of course, he's also using a 1920s boiler that was converted to oil but the fact remains.

I feel bad for him paying 3 times what I do, but he refuses to do anything about it. He even has someone I consider to be the best in the business willing to do the work for him but as long as the old one keeps going he isn't spending a dime. Other than on oil.....

Also make sure no one tries to convert you from steam to hydronic heat

    Thanks, all.

No one's mentioned the one person on the contractor list who's reasonably near me: Bill Raymond at Frank & Lindy Service Co.

    Any experiences with him?

I'm not familiar with him. The two that I mentioned earlier should be able to help you out. Tell them that they were recommended by Heating Help.

Those are great pics of a Smith boiler! They don't show the important parts, the piping! We need to see the piping above and around the boiler.
