Piping okay?

Looks good, similar to the way many of us would do it. But which model Burnham is it?All Steamed Up, Inc.

Great, I was afraid it wasn't piped correctly. The installer didn't want to do the drop header? It's a IN5 140k BTU. They haven't fired her up yet, there was an issue with the low water cut off? It was showing low water but the sight glass was showing the right level.0

I don't like that 3" bullheaded tee or the dry returns attached up high above the water line.5

Steamhead got me on a problem the exact same as what JStar said in regards to bullheading the tee.I had a lot of asbestos to contend with and an infant in the house. They had to leave and problem got corrected. You put that much effort in go the extra mile.5

Is the horizontal portion of the takeoff to the main sloped back towards the 90 that comes off the header? It's hard to tell from the photos. If it's sloped the other way condensate could pool at the 45.1890 near-vapor one pipe steam system | Operating pressure: 0.25 oz | 607 sf EDR
Midco LNB-250 Modulating Gas Burner | EcoSteam ES-50 modulating controls | 70 to 300 MBH |

Can we get close-ups of the return piping (above the Hartford Loop connection in the third photo) and how the steam takeoff connects to the system piping? All Steamed Up, Inc.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Yes I will take some more pictures. Yes I have a bull head tee and I told the installer that it should be removed. He stated that it's been there for over 100 years and it's worked so far, that's it not necessary to break it?0

The problem is it doesn't have that 100 year old boiler anymore and those old boilers functioned ALOT differently than the new ones do. Once the boiler is changed the whole system has to be looked at.Cuban826 said:Thanks everyone for your comments. Yes I will take some more pictures. I'm willing to bet it's worked poorly for 100 years, or at least since the system was converted from coal.Cuban826 said:Thanks everyone for your comments. Yes I will take some more pictures. I'm a homeowner and I could have that tee out of there in no more than 15 minutes.
Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

Thanks, I'll talk to the installer about these issues.
1. Remove bull head
2. Drop dry return to below water line
3. Pitch steam take off
Please let me know of any other issues. Thanks again to everyone...this website is great. Here's some more pictures.0
