Trying to make a good decision!
Burnham independence IN8 vs Peerless Series 63-05.

What are the main differences ?
I think one of them is 3" piping for header vs 2" of the burnham?
Which one is the best most reliable option?

You'll get mixed opinions. Both are good boilers. Aside from geting a good install, It now comes down to personal preferences and local support/parts availability.

If it were up to me, I'd check the weight of each boiler. I've been told that Peerless boilers have more cast iron in their sections than other makes. That may make a difference in how long it lasts - provided the "crypto-leaks" are fixed first, of course.

I've been told that the "B" boiler has in their instructions that any water usage above a fraction of a gallon per year is unacceptable. That seems a bit odd to me, and an indication that either there is a problem with the water (chlorides?) or the cast iron.

I also like the Peerless 3" outlet versus the 2" , That gives one more choices with the piping install.

No brainer. Go with the peerless. 3" tappings on the Peerless vs 2" on the Burnham.
