Hi,second time I have seen this recently.Installer took a hot later loop of the coil on a oil fired steam boiler.Every time I have done this I take hot water zone from below the water line actually following one of Dans drawings. Is this an acceptable way of piping.
Whats your thoughts?Thanks.

If its off a tankless coil yes. You just need to install a extrol tank, fill valve and backflow like its another hot water boiler. I also presume that it not used for DHW.0

It rocks. You get a fully separated pressurized loop which can include ferrous components as needed, with no real height limits.0
