Circulator Squeals, Squeaks, On Shutdown-

I have a Grundfos 15-58 that squeals and or squeaks, on shutdown. It also rattles, rather quietly, while running. I t has a new IFC valve, but I don't think it is the problem. Pump is not very old, and I don't know if it has always done it or not. Any ideas would be appreciated.

I use large centrifugal pumps and they squeek and squeal at shutdown when the bearings are done, allowing the shaft to slide slightly forward. The blades on the impeller are rubbing against the face plate. They do sound similar to what you're describing. You can have it good, fast or cheap. Pick two0

Why did you replace the IFC? Did it squeak before that?0

I replaced the IFC because I broke it trying to pull it out to inspect-clean. The new pump shuts down quietly, really does not rattle, but it tinkles, yes tinkles. This is still annoying. I believe it is the IFC. I think I've about had it with these pumps, and will replace with a Taco Viridian 1816 in the near future. I only replaced the 15-58 with another because I had it laying around-0
