I haven't done much refrigeration in the last six or seven years but the customer called a week ago and then again yesterday and was desperate. It's a beer and wine store and so naturally his busiest week and the walk in cooler was down. When I arrived he told me he had the compressor replaced last week and it was still not working. I found the original dryer in the system, the cap tube from a replaced condenser fan cycle control still connected to the discharge line. Recovered what was left of the charge and replaced dryer removed cap tube evacuate weigh in charge. Start up and found that the electronic TEV [ Becon one system ] had no voltage. Replaced evap in and out sensor cost $14.00 each. Box was at 48 and drooping like a rock when I left 75 when I arrived. I thought I was gonna get my first kiss from a man from India. Asked the owner if the other two tech's had even asked for the book that I left on the job and he said no.

"" The skilled people in this profession are few and far between. The honest one's among them are even less. ""
Its my personal opinion that there are far more out there that meet your criteria than the public ever realizes. Its just that the ones that aren't, get called first, then start telling everyone what crooks the rest of us are supposed to be.
The proof will be when next time if they call you. Or someone recommends Lakshmi's husband Danish who worked with this other guy as an apprentice in India carrying tools for someone that did plumbing and fixes things cheap.0 -
Good for you unclejohn!
On Monday I replaced a cracked flare nut on the outlet to an EPR valve, addeed freon, changed the LL FilterDrier, and the comp start capacitor,I left the job when the salad case was down to 41*f, by the time I got back to the shop (30min)the customer called because the case was up to 60*, drove back and condemned the compressor. Because of my "close proximity" to the failed comp, I sold a new condensing to the customer for the EXACT amount that I paid at the supply house, TO THE PENNY! I hate when that happens. My Grandson and I were on the roof from 0530 until 1430, just a little chilly.0 -
