lwco for burnham series 2 boiler

Hi All:

I have 15 year old Burnham series 2 boiler (P206). I would like to install an lwco on it. I was looking at a hydrolevel 1100 (which is what Burnham uses on newer incarnations of this boiler) and wondering if there is a tapping on the boiler I can use for the installation? It looks like there is an immersion well (3/4" NPT) on the exterior of the boiler for a second high-limit aquastat . Can I use this for the lwco? Or do I have to cut the piping and install a T?

Thanks for any help.

Replying to my own question: "No".

A recent version of the I&O manual indicates quite clearly that the lwco must be above the jacket.

Where I work all Boilers have lwco and they are cut in in the supply line just above the boiler and on top of that is an auxiliary high limit. Any brand of LWCO will work, I suggest the kind with the self cleaning probe.
