in Oil Heating
Thermopride hotair unit.The chimney had a strong down draft.Found cause from an attic fan on by visiting inlaws of course.House filled up with smoke from oil burner.Shut attic fan off and draft is good.Vented house.Now burner runs and shuts down have to hit reset too often.

You shouldn't have to hit the reset button at all.
You need to get a Tech out to go over the burner. I can think of a host of potential damage caused by what happened. You also need to have that venting straightened out. Having the attic fan on while in heating season doesn't make any sense. I would do something to prevent that from happening again.

Have someone check heat exchanger for excessive sooting.
