Expansion tank location.

I want to relocate about a dozen diaphram tanks. I want to come out of the bottom of the air scoops ,using elbows, nipples, T and wind up 4-5-7' away w/ x-tank laying on its side (horizontally) on top of a cement blocks. Is there any "hydraulic " or "hydronic" reason why this should not be done this way? Thanks .

So long as ALL pumps are pumping away from the PONPC, it doesn't matter. Distance between the PONPC and circulators are more critical, but distance of the tank away from the common piping is not an issue. Having too much distance between the PONPC and the circulator can result in pressure droop which can lead to possible cavitation and other issues. Make certain you provide a means of tank isolation and a means of releasing the pressure at the water side of the tank.

There was an error rendering this rich post.

That is my exact reason for the relocation/isolation. Thank you.
