Weil-McLain Ultra Series 3 MAWP?

Does anyone know the max working pressure of a WM Ultra Series 3CT?

I can't find it online and I have a client asking me to put one in the cellar of a 6-story building.

If you figure a minimum of 10' per floor, that's 60' if the boiler is in a basement and the top floor radiation is 60' above the boiler, that equals 26# PSI. Not a lot of wiggle room in the system.

abracadabra, are you sure that's for the Series 3?
I could've sworn I'd heard that the newest Ultra would allow a higher mawp.

    Thanks a lot.

You could look at the HydroTherm KN series boilers, they are rated at 100 psi. I think Wales Darby is the rep for NY.

We have a system running about as close to the limits of a 30# relief valve as one can get. System height is 54 feet and it's running at 28-29 PSI. Boiler pumps on the 399's pump away from the boilers (firetube HX) to prevent the relief valves from burping on the differential pressure.

yeah.. pretty sure.. the relief valve they supply with it is still a 30psi. docs for the series 3 say 30psi.

A little off topic but why don't manufacturers test their boilers for higher working pressure? If HydroTherm can do it, why can't others? I used to use the HydroTherm modular boilers quite a bit and they were 75psi.

I'll bet higher pressures mean you have to use more lawyer repellant and we all know how expensive that is!

Thanks, guys. Rich, I'll look again at the HTP but I'm enjoying the Lochinvar line at the moment. The Knight XL is certified at 160psi and I like the control interface and customer support I get (hello, Jerry Katz) at Wallace-Eannace.

I've got a client asking for the Ultra, it happens a lot so I accommodate, and I'm checking to see if it's compatible with the conditions.
    I guess it isn't.
