Looking for Steam Heat Contractor - Long Island, NY

Options
We are looking for a steam heat expert who can help us with our Burnham oil boiler and a possible dirty water problem. We have had various issues with the boiler since it was installed in 2010. We then found a great steam heat expert, Tom Schwartz of TGO Mechanical, who serviced our boiler for two years before he passed away in February of this year. He was in the midst of what we think to be replacing the low water cutoff valve after we discovered the water gauge was totally full. So we found another steam expert who advised us it would be ok to continue to operate the heating system as is and replace the low water cutoff valve in the fall. Due to his scheduling issues, this second steam expert has not been able to return to our home to check over our heating system. So we finally had the low water cutoff valve replaced 12 days ago by a burner technician.

We have flushed the boiler three times since then and the water has been thick, black, and dark. This does not seem normal. Is it a corrosion issue? Is this part of a bigger problem that Tom Schwartz had discovered back in February?

We would be grateful if there is a steam expert out there who would be willing to assist us. We can compensate for travel time (we are in the Huntington, NY part of Long Island) as well. Please message us directly if you think you can provide this service and we can give you more details on our location and on our boiler.

Thank you!
