Replacing disc in Dunham 1E steam traps?
ATM
Member Posts: 22
I have a couple of Dunham 1E steam traps on radiators where I'd like to replace the original thermostatic disc, but I'm not sure how to separate the disc from the cap. Do they pull apart, unscrew? I search on the board and the web, but haven't found a picture or description of how to do it.

Maybe send an email to "Dave in QCA " He has replaced discs in the 1E. Qote from one of his earlier postings: "All existing Dunham Bush 1E traps have been repaired by installing new thermostatic discs. In a few locations, Armstrong TS-2 traps have been used as replacements for failed traps, but they too have a very unrestricted passage and seem to perform the same as the Dunham traps."0

I found out today that the thermostatic discs unscrew from the caps. The one I looked at was just very hard to unscrew.0
