Crane 7W102A boiler circulation pump

I bought my house a year ago and had a guy come up and inspect my furnace. The pump ran 24/7 and I wasn't sure it should do that. He changed a ,switch?, and now the pump only runs when the burner is going. I am guessing, but shouldn't it stay pumping for like 5 minutes after the burner goes off? Is it supposed to always run? How do I find a repair person who knows what he's doing?

Was it causing a problem by constantly running? Is it not working now?0

No.I can rebuild a entire car but I'm a rookie with this furnace stuff
I was just wondering why it always ran. My thinking is that it's wasting electricity pumping cool water for hours. I am guessing that it should circulate water for maybe 5 minutes after the burner shuts off.
Am I way off on this?0
