What are the best oil-fired steam boilers for conversion to natural gas? I know Carlin and Beckett make conversion burners for many but I've also heard that most conversions aren't very efficient. I'm particularly interested in the 110K BTU range.

Actually, a relatively recent oil-fired boiler converted to gas will be more efficient than the usual atmospheric gas boiler. You have more heat-transfer surface available, and better control over the air supply.
We've converted quite a few different oil-fired boiler models to gas. We also install this type of boiler with a gas burner. Most of the ones we've done recently are Slant/Fin Intrepid and Columbia CSFE series. The latter is the same as the Utica Starfire boiler. All Steamed Up, Inc.
