Oil to gas usage conversion statistics

Hello,

I need to replace my oil fired steam boiler.

I am looking into possibly changing to gas. I am looking for oil to gas usage conversion statistics. If I use 1000 gallons of oil in a season now how many therms of gas would be equivalent. I would just like to be able to work up an accurate calculation to aid me in my research and assessment to help me to make a final decision with this matter.
