Lochinvar KBN105 low/high fan lockout

What are the possibilities besides replacing the blower fan assembly that could cause this error code ? I would prefer to exhaust all other remedies before buying a fan and then finding out that the problem was misdiagnosed. I have not been to the job site and the customer stated that there has never been any maintenance performed since it was installed in 2008.
There was an error rendering this rich post.

Fan issues
First thing, clean the fan. You may as well do an entire service if it has been in for a long time and never touched. If the issue persists you should check the speed control signals from the board.0
