Ruud 40gl Water Heater Power Vent Error Code?

I have a 7 year old Ruud Power Vent gas water heater that is acting weird and Ruud is completely useless to me...of course it is just off warranty.
The green light use to flash about once every second.
Now it blinks about twice every second and after about 72 hours goes to solid green and won't function. A quick restart and it works but repeats the twice a second blink and solid green after 72 hours. It still hears water just fine except when it stalls of course.
No one in my area works/diagnoses Ruuds and I would really like to know if this is a serious issue or I can wait a couple months and replace in the fall.
Model is PVP40f
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
Yes, it is hooked up through a gfci outlet, by the way.

PVP 40 F Water Heater:
They didn't leave the owner/service manual with the water heater when it was installed? How quaint of them.
This might be the missing manual.
The "code" you describe isn't listed. There really isn't anything that owners can do for it. What you describe usually means a new brain/control.

In the book...
.... for this heater that Ice posted, look to page 37 for error codes. It looks like you might have a problem with the pressure switch. I just worked on one that had a slightly leaky tube attached and that caused it to malfunction. Make SURE to check the anode!
