Anyone else getting unwanted calls from Angie's List?

We get them rather frequently no matter how much we tell them we won't pay to advertise on their site, and we don't want them to call anymore.



If this doesn't stop we may have to take some sort of legal action. Anyone else in the same position?

Get it all the time ,inform them to put you on there do not call list it usually works after the second time at least for me other wise threaten legal action .I get the same thing from a few nation wide supply chains after repeating to  tell them to put on do not call list I had a local manager call me I reamed the guy out being I dealt with  chain like 2 times in 15 years there prices suck and they carry nothing I use and every time I try to get something from them they do not have and they never stock parts for equipment they carry I  explained it to him and all has finally been quite. Funny thing  is they just started to carry the big V ,any tech help or parts, no dice according to them never need them or case be they can ship over night unless I want to stock pile parts hahah .peace and good luck clammy

Yeah

It makes you want to unlist your number, but you can't do that as a business. It makes you want to pull your hair out. Angie's list is as bad as the Better Business Bureau. I used to assume that it was only the subscibers that had to pay. I guess everyone has to. Don't want em, don't need em!

Angie's List:

Cold Calls from Angie's List are just from commission sales persons. Just like the calls you get for "Kops & Kids" or the Police Benevolent Associations.

Angie's List had their name bought and it is just a public repair service. Consumer's report they are not.

It cost big bucks to produce and air all those TV commercials.

I have caller id and generally don't answer out of state calls. This is because of Angie's list they have toned it done lately but at one point it was twice a week.

Next time I answer the phone I guess I'm going to have to ask for billing department and send them a bill for my time on the phone, I just wish it was that simple.

Junk Calls:

I look at Caller ID. If it isn't someone I know, I still usually answer it unless it is someone really gross. But I pick up the phone. I say hello. I pause for a moment. If no answer, I hang up. The call was from a phone bank with a computer call. If I have to wait for someone to answer the light, they're too late. If it was important, they'll call back.

Caller ID is fine when one is in the office.  If we're in the office, we're not serving our customers and generating income.



But they are calling our cell phones while we're at work.



Reading (former) Angie's List employees reviews of working for that company, one reviewer said they were told by management to use various means of subterfuge to hide their number from caller IDs. 



They are told to keep calling, no matter what, and are shouted at if they don't meet their (very arbitrary) quotas. 



Upper management is consistently derided as clueless a la Dilbert-Land.



These reviews also consistently mentioned alcohol consumption being allowed in a sort of "Frat House" atmosphere at work in buildings that the local Fire Marshall should shut down. (Post picture of "Bluto" here).



And if you are not a "buddy" with your manager, you're gone very soon.

I use PhonePower.com

It use to be sunrocket, voip system with all the bells and whistles, inexpensive and it works well but most importantly it gives you a answering system and the ability to selectively call forward to that voice box. I also have a regular answering machine in my office. All calls go to my office and after I screen them I go to Phonepower log and select that number to go to the other box. This works very well because unlike blocking the number it appears to them they are still getting through. If you block the number they will simply use another number. By using select forward your phone never rings and you can set the box to dump calls at whatever interval you want. Of course my established customers are given my cell number. This has worked very well for me.

Here is a portion of my letter to a very annoying, and persistent Angies List salesman:



I am only interested in advertising on a closed sale basis, and, am willing to share very generously once a sales lead is invoiced, and payment recieved. I'm a part of the most fantastic, and dynamic sales lead generating system going- referrals from satisfied customers, most of whom are not Angies List members.

I invite you to become a part of my network, all it takes is a little forward thinking and a willingness to shift the standard that would guarantee my profitability first............
