Old gas fired furnaces

Eaglea Member Posts: 1
I was trying to remember if the 1950-60's era furnaces had an asbestos based liner inside the heat exchanger compartment. I know the later models went to fiberglass or duct liner material. Units we used in my area were Carrier, GE, Lennox, Payne, Bryant, Janitrol,,Climateol and some York and Luxaire. These were natural draft furnaces.
