Trying to figure out the use of this - what looks like an old cabinet unit heater. They are located in the classrooms of an old school right next to a regular radiator.
At first I thought they may be some sort of old unit ventilator but there is no air connection.
Any clue?

I don't recognize the brand
but have seen similar units. You'll probably find an aquastat or pressure switch inside the unit that locks out the fan unless there is heat in the coil.
As far as its capacity, if you can't find a label that shows it, go by the size of the supply pipe. Use the 2-pipe charts in "Lost Art".
What type of Vapor system is this hooked up to?All Steamed Up, Inc.

Hey!
We had those exact heaters in my elementary school! They had drum fans that would kick on and blow warm air now and then, seemingly randomly. They were fun to sit on, and made a heinous noise and blew sawdust everywhere if you jammed a pencil in them when they were running. Hope that helps0 -
