Radiator feet pedestal?

Lemley
Lemley Member Posts: 2
After renovation, I am installing a new radiator but would like to have it a little higher to vacuum beneath. Another removed radiator had four pedestals to go under the feet (picture attached). I'd like something like them to raise the new radiator (possibly higher). But, I have no idea what they are called. Does anyone know? Plus, can you get them anywhere? Or, am I stuck with making my own?

    Casting Radiator Pedestals

All Steamed Up, Inc.'s Foundry Division, located near our World Headquarters in Towson, Md has gone into (very) limited production of these very items.

They are available in aluminum alloy, brass and soon, we hope, cast iron.

    I love it!!

Are you guys gonna buy a foundry and start making your own boilers? I never know what you'll come up with next.

    Okay, I'd use those instead.

Do they come in black and red? ;-)

We Would Very Much Like To Make Our Own Steam Boiler

We would like to melt down scrap h**t p*mps as our base metal for them, too!

BTW, the radiator feet we make use scrap gas valves as base metal.

We'd need a lot more capital, however.

Anybody want to get in on the ground floor on this venture?

    Nice!

So does one just come to your location to buy these?  I am actually only about an hour from you and I might be interested in buying some (quantity depends on price and what I can afford lol).  Or do you only use/sell these to customers you do work for?

    Factory

I happen to know of a manufacturing plant in Dundalk that is for rent. It is formerly known as HydroTherm :) Honestly, if you decide to do it let us know. Capital is always there for the right idea.

    Maybe....

You guys can develop a 3 pass GAS boiler since Burnham doesn't seem to want to do it!

    Boilers

Oh if someone would just release a 90% AFUE NG steam boiler.

    Can you imagine?

Single pipe 392sqft system with an EG-40 rated for 325sqft and it's silent and balanced at all times.

    I can.

All it would take is a countercurrent heat exchanger. The problem with conventional boilers is that the media on both sides of the heat exchanger are convecting upwards. With a power burner, you could, theoretically, blow the flame in at the top of the vessel and vent it from the bottom. This allows the hottest flame to be adjacent to the hottest steam, and as it loses heat, the steam/water is cooler, so the heat transfer is maximized throughout the process.

There's probably some technical reason why this can't be done easily--I'm sure other people have thought of this before--but if there's a problem to be solved, I wouldn't bet against these guys solving it.
