oil filter leak

in Oil Heating
I have a sid harvey oil filtercanister type 264, i changed the filter and it leaks at the 5/8 bolt. I cleaned the bolt surface replaced the gasket the next day it is wet. Any help wpuld be great Thanks Tom

Cannister filters:
The best repair is to replace it with a spin on type like a Gerber.
After a while, the gasket under the hold down nut and the bleed screw (if it has one) will become as hard as a tar road. They will weep and/or leak.
When was the last time you saw a canister type filter on your automobile? Even my lawn mowers have spin on filters.
Avoid anguish. Replace it.0 -
