gas fired steam crown boiler

Hey guys. I have a gas steam boiler made by crown that was installed about 7 years. It started leaking so I call the place where it was purchased and they told me it had rotted out due to too much water being inside it. So they said its common with a lot of the crown boilers, so crown will give me a new block for $300.00. Do anyone here have any information on taking block out of the old boiler because that's the only way i can get the new block

too much water?
or too much fresh water from an auto water feeder? just curious. I would hire someone to do it. Simply for warranty issues and speed since it is still heating season.0 -
Common to every heating boiler
If you have leaks in the system, which cause constant additions of fresh water with plenty of oxygen, the boiler will fail early, and in your case 20 years too early.
Crown will have instructions on their website for the installation of the block, but fix any leaks at the same time.
I think they are bending backwards for you on this.--NBC0
