Suggestions needed to go electronic

Hi everyone,
I run a mid-size plumbing and heating company and want to get out of the dark ages with all of the paperwork. More important is to keep things simple. I want for all of the men to have handheld devices where they can enter billing information that will upload to the office for pricing, etc. There are some fancy programs out there that focus on scheduling, etc., but I am more interested in billing and inventory control. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks
