two questions:

1 Have a 5 year od knight, shut down this weekend, but did reset...Sensor 1 error was displayed...what woud caus this?

2 I track data from the display annually, this year the ign attempts shot from 10,000 to 999,999. I don't hear the boiler doing anything unusual, what would cause this counter to go nuts?

    Glitches...

Move the sensor wire around a bit, and the bad sensor error should go away. Also check all wiring connections and makes sure something hasn't unseated itself (Molex jacks or screw tension clamp)

The 999,999 count is erronius. It's a software glitch. If you do the math, that is over 1,000 cycles per day. Highly unlikely you are truly seeing that many cycles.

    could be...

I have a 2012 WHN 155 and I did the wire wiggle thing ME is talking about and got my sensor fault.  Pushed the wire into the outlet sensor (molex jack) and it seemed to fix itself, but a couple days later it faulted on a "outlet temp diff" again.   I ordered a new outlet sensor and replaced the old one.  I don't know if the wiring harness is bad but this has been two weeks without any faults.   But right now she works and I will not mess with her, if I get the fault again I will change out the wiring harness or check the connections more closely.  I was also told that if you have zone vales running off your boiler transformer that could through some weird voltage at your smart control board and cause some issues.  I will be in the next couple of weeks put a 24v transformer for my zone vales only.  So yeah it could be a bad connection for sure or a bad sensor.  Doubt the board is bad but you never know.  Mess with the connections and see what happens, if that does not work try the sensor.....Good luck I know it is a pain.

    sorry one more thing..

....my fault was on the outlet sensor, and if I am correct that sensor has 2 sensors 1a and 1b.  This is the outlet sensor and high limit.
