    Gorton

19 out of 22 vents are Gorton..Mains are Gorton

Water seems to get in the vents on 2nd & 3rd Floor and radiator stops working untill I knock the water out.

In general until our guy can get here..why does this happen?

    Are radiators tilted?

Has this been an on-going problem or has something recently changed? Are the radiators with this problem tilted slightly back towards the steam inlet so the water can run out of the radiator? I assume this is a one pipe system. Also what is the pressuretrol on the boiler set at? Cut-in should be around .5PSI and differential set at 1PSI for a  Cut-out around 1.5PSI, no more than 2PSI.

I had this recurring annoyance with Hoffman 1a's until I increased my main venting (back pressure 2 ounces), and got a vaporstat to make sure the pressure could not rise over 8 ounces. In addition to that skimming the boiler more and more finally dried out the steam, (3rd month of new boiler).

Is your piping good, and pressure down?

When your guy goes over there, it's only good for one cycle.--NBC

    Tilt ?

Some of the radiators (with water in vent/2nd & 3rd Fl)) are not tilled towards Valve ..but most are.

    Yes Vaporstat

Vaporstat was installed but not sure what settings are..not sure which box it is.

So its a "new boiler" thing and steam drys up after skimming process is done.. or PSI is high.

Pipes..? It was not happening before with the 478 WM Oil unit.

    Anything else that may be?

    Thanks
