utica UB90-150 noise

I installed the complete system in 2005 and new this season is a banging noise immediately upon any thermostat being satisfied in the system. I have read where people have removed springs from zone valves but seems weird to have to do it now, you'd think they'd be somewhat stretched/weaker by now. I checked the pressure gauge while running..about 17psi. When a zone is calling for heat I don't hear any gurgling or water passing thru...no noise at all.
