Need for the pressuretrol as back up

Like many, I can't get the Pressuretrol to cut in/out according to its settings (.5 - 1.5). Instead, its cutting in/out at 2 - 3.5.

As recommended, I'd like to replace it with a Vaporstat. Question is where its ok to literally replace the Pressuretrol, ..... instead of adding it to the system and keeping the existing Pressuretrol as a safety back up (as seen on other posts).

Plan is to quickly replace it now to get a handle on how the system behaves and then in the off season, go with the additional safety measure of having both installed off separate pigtails.

Wouldn't having just the Vaporstat essentially be equivalent from a safety perspective to just having the Pressuretrol? Anything else i need to be thinking about?

thanks for any clarifications.

    As long as the boiler

is not big enough that Code requires two pressure controls, simply swapping the Pressuretrol for the Vaporstat is fine.
