Balancing radiators

Hearing water in steam main on a one pipe counterflow system on one side of building. Heat not getting to radiators. Need to adjust pitch when it gets warmer out but today I removed gorton 2 vent from antler on wet return and when boiler started to make steam a ton of water came out of pipe where vent was. Is this normal?
